War is Over

By Larry Lyles

This is San Diego Bay at the Embarcadero area next to the USS Midway Museum. I captured this image on July 4th, 2018 while shooting with two other local photographers. After walking around the area and taking test shots of the statue, I saw what I wanted, which was to shoot from a very low angle and not have the initial blast or light stream from the barge in the image. I wanted the fireworks explosions to surround the image and still have the statue well lit and not silhouetted. I had to quickly move to the right a few feet after the initial blast to get the composition I was after.
