NIGHTSCAPES JUDGE

One of my favorite places for night photography in San Diego is American Plaza Trolley Station. The texture of the ceiling is made even more interesting by its changing colors. I made this image during an outing with a small group of photographer friends.  Our goal that evening was to capture light trails and in our circles, it’s always a bonus if you can catch more than one trolley. In this photo, an approaching trolley is seen “through” a departing one.

ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER

Charmaine Gray enjoys many genres of photography and her areas of expertise include fine art landscapes and pet portraiture. While Charmaine has been photographing for years, relocating to San Diego from the Midwest reignited her passion in photography.  The dramatic and dynamic landscapes in Southern California speak to her and provide limitless photographic opportunities for unique and exciting images.  Charmaine’s landscape work features striking sunset color palettes and nightscape long exposures.

After attending a dog surfing competition in 2016, Charmaine was asked to become the official photographer for Southern California dog surfing competitions.  The joy Charmaine felt from that one event revealed her true passion – pet photography.  Charmaine has a love of all animals and has worked with young, old, anxious, deaf and blind.  While her clients are primarily dogs, she also works with cats and horses.  Her pet portraiture has been described as vibrant, joyful and capturing the intense bond between humans and animals.   She continues to focus on dog sporting events, as well as premium quality pet portraiture experiences and wall art.
